Zirconia Backyard Build
The primary goal of this project was to design and build a private, low-maintenance mountain bike trail system that supports multiple riding styles while enhancing access throughout the property.
A major focus of the project was connecting previously inaccessible areas of the land. A new bridge now spans the property's creek, providing access to a beautiful swimming hole and an untouched section of the property that was once difficult to reach. The completed trail system transforms unused space into a functional, scenic destination, allowing the homeowners to experience and enjoy more of their land while highlighting its natural beauty.
Week 1
Established the initial corridor to access remote areas of the property.
Cleared brush and vegetation throughout the corridor and surrounding areas.
Prepared the property for future trail development and improved overall accessibility.
Started to build the bridge to cross the property’s creek.
Completed the first section of singletrack and gave it the finishing touches
Week 2
Continued finishing the singletrack section of trail, with final shaping and refinement throughout.
Built a natural creek crossing using rocks sourced directly from the property, incorporating the abundant native stone into the trail tread for a seamless, natural look.
Continued shaping the jump line and tied it into the singletrack, creating a fun figure-eight layout that offers multiple riding options and keeps the trail engaging.
Added an e-bike cut-through, allowing riders to quickly lap the jump line without riding the entire trail system.
Built a hand-cup turn trail at the top of the jump line, adding another fun riding option.
